What we love to
do around
Mountain sports
Going for a short but tough workout to indulge in the marvellous view through Otliško okno down to the valley – taking a very short and extra cold refreshment in freezing Hubelj (only on the hottest summer day!) – giving proof of our physical strengths on a cycling or hiking tour up to Čaven – spotting the Mediterranean Sea from the Nano’s plateau – adventuring turquoise Soča waters
Restaurants & bars
Dropping by at Mirjana’s bar in cosy Vipavski Križ for one of her fabulous glasses of Vipava wine – savouring the unique wine and food pairing experience at Matej’s and Nataša’s Majerija – taking a break at the bar Faladur
Local products
Filling our wine stocks through a visit at one of our favourite family wineries in the valley – enjoying a local Pelicon craft beer after a cycling tour – passing by at Mlinotest supermarket for some of their buckwheat specialties – visiting Portorož’s salt fields and stocking up on salty souvenirs – stopping for a glass of Teran and some local Pršut in a Karst village
Culture trips
Being enchanted by Hrastovlje’s frescos – escaping for a city tour to lovely Ljubljana – strolling through Izola’s alleys – approaching Triest by a spectaculous tram ride and immersing in its Italian flavoured k.u.k. history – discovering Goriška Brda, Slovenia’s small Tuscany – satisfying the yearning for Italy with a day-trip to Grado (or even Venice) – marvelling at Aquileia’s mosaics
